Songs confirmed for “The Quarterback”

After very much speculation to what songs will be used to honor the late Cory Monteith in the tribute episode of Glee, Fox Media has released and confirmed the songs that will be heard in the season’s third episode. The highly anticipated tribute episode will have six songs total featuring covers of songs made famous by Adele, James Taylor and more.

Since the news that Glee was going forward with season 5 after the death of Cory Monteith, gleeks everywhere became very curious as to how the show would go on without Fin. More importantly would the show pay homage to the fallen glee member? Would they address his death? What will be their next move?

Well after much curiosity writer and creator, Ryan Murphy, finally announced there would, in fact, be a tribute episode to the glee’s leading man. After this was announced the social networks went crazy with speculations and desires of which songs should appear.

Originally it was said that all the songs featured on this episode would be recreations of all of the songs Fin performed while he was in the glee club. Later that was denied.

After many suggestions for tribute songs came out it was noticeable that there was one thing every gleek was concerned about. The song that Rachel would sing for her fallen love.

Many said she would sing “My Heart Will Go On” by Celin Dion, and then there were rumors that Ms. Berry would be taking on the Carrie Underwood classic, “Just a Dream.” I for one was on board fully for that song.

Well after a long wait FOX finally calmed our nerves and released the song list for the much anticipated episode. The episode will be filled with emotional solos and group performs by some of our favorite Glee cast mates such as, Santana, Mercedes, Kurt, Rachel, and appearances by many others.

The track list is as follows:

“Seasons of Love” from  the musical Rent

“I’ll Stand By You” by the Pretenders

“Fire and Rain” by James Taylor

“If I Die Young” by the Band Perry

“No Surrender” by Bruce Springsteen

and lastly the ever anticipated solo by Rachel Berry will be “To Make You Feel My Love” by Adele.

I for one am going to be ready with a box of tissues because from this set list I can tell this episode is going to be full of tear jerking moments.

Be sure to tune in on October 10th with Glee fans everywhere as we pay tribute to the late Cory Monteith and the beloved Fin Hudson!
