Cassadee Pope has returned to her rock roots for a special tribute to the 80’s rock band Montely Crue. Along with fellow country performers, Pope, offers up her amazing voice with a rendition of “Animal in Me” that will blow you away.
Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Montley Crue dropped this morning. Featuring country artist Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes, Darius Rucker and new comer Cassadee Pope.
You might remember this powerhouse as the winner of the third season of The Voice. But for those of you who were Cassadee Pope fans before her country days, you know that she started her music career as front-woman of punk-rock band Hey Monday.
So when Pope made her transition into Country it was a bit disappointing for some fans. Yet after this release of Animal in Me, fans may have a change of heart.
Going back to her roots of heavy metal guitars, head banging beats and amazing belts, Pope does not disappoint! Out of all the songs on the album this one definitely stands out amongst the others.
You can hear a sense of comfort in the way that Pope delivers the song. Like this is the type of music that she should be singing. The song just fits her so well.
While the entire song is captivating and amazing, the best part of the entire song is right towards the end when Pope delivers the last two choruses.
She slows down the beat, just singing over a mellow guitar, then the song picks back up and Pope let’s her voice go. She begins to move up the scales offering for a great variation of notes and then belts out that last note so flawlessly.
This song is probably one of my favorite things that Pope has done in such a long time. This shows off her range, allows for some fun vocal treatment and she owns the entire song.
Pope demands your attention and keeps it from beginning to end. Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Montley Crue is currently availble on iTunes, so be sure to pick up your own copy. Until then, take a listen to Animal in Me below.
